IPG Photonics is an MNC, headquartered in US, with subsidiary research locations in Germany, Italy and Bangalore, India, and a world leader in the research, design and development of Fiber Lasers, Optical Amplifiers (EDFAs) and other products for Telecom as well as Industrial Applications. Responsibilities : • Design and development of Fiber Optic Splitter Blocks and subsequently in setting up the mass production facility for this product in India. The splitter blocks were manufactured at IPG India for further integration into the company’s products at its HQ in US. • Development of Rack Mount Optical Amplifiers (EDFAs, +16dBm and +23dBm). Led the team right from Vendor Development, sourcing of components, Manufacture and Testing to IPG Standards.
Renka (India) Pvt. Ltd. is a 100% Subsidiary of Renka Corporation, USA, an ISO 9002 company into design, development and manufacture of fiber optic components. Responsibilities : • Design and Development of FBT (fused biconical taper) based Integrated Splitter Arrays from concept to completion. • Design and Development of Optical Isolator. Initial development and mass production successfully achieved for the first time in India. • Quality Assurance of fiber optic coupler and derived products like wavelength division multiplexers (WDMs), including Qualification Testing to Telcordia (Bell Core) Standards GR 1209. • Planning, Costing and Technically Managing the company’s project venture to set up a Hybrid Fiber-Coax (HFC) Network in Johannesburg, South Africa. Activities involved designing a pilot project for connecting 5000 homes, planning, and complete costing of the project including developing the Bill of Materials
