If I know one thing, it's that Earth is a pretty incredible place, and I have made it my goal to help keep it that way. As a current first-year student at the University of Guelph, I’m studying wildlife and conservation biology, which will lead me to a career in helping to protect biodiversity. I am motivated to build a profession in conservation and natural resources through hands-on learning experiences in fieldwork and lab-based roles. Through my academic coursework, including chemistry labs and group assignments, I have developed a strong attention to detail, a safety-focused approach to data collection, and problem-solving skills. I also have a diverse range of practical experience, including customer service, healthcare volunteering, coaching, and outdoor activities. These roles have strengthened my communication and teamwork skills, as well as my ability to work in fast-paced and physically demanding environments. I also value my experiences backcountry camping and hiking, which further developed my comfort and confidence working outdoors in varying weather and remote conditions. As a full-time Co-op student, I am currently seeking summer and work term opportunities in conservation, fisheries and wildlife biology.
