My journey has been fueled by an unyielding passion for community enrichment and the advancement of individuals with disabilities. Throughout my career, I’ve dedicated myself to fostering independence, confidence, and skills among those who often face societal barriers. Over the years, I’ve worked closely with individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities, developing a patient and empathetic teaching style that supports people to build crucial life skills. This approach empowers individuals to navigate both personal and professional spheres with greater self-assurance and dignity. As a seasoned workplace trainer, I combined my passion for supporting others with practical expertise—equipping support workers and people with disabilities with the tools they need to thrive. Witnessing the transformative power of nurturing talents and helping people achieve milestones has been a driving force in my career. Building on this foundation, I moved into a pivotal training role preparing support workers for dynamic fields such as NDIS Supported Independent Living (SIL) homes, community care, and child and youth services—including emergency respite, residential care, and contact supervision. My focus has always been on creating a workforce that is both skilled and compassionate, ensuring the highest quality of care for the most vulnerable members of our community. Today, my progression has led me into my current role as a Local Area Coordinator (LAC) with the NDIS. This position represents both a natural step forward and a personal achievement: it allows me to directly support participants and their families to access the right amount of support, make informed choices, and achieve meaningful goals. In this role, I continue to advocate for fairness, inclusivity, and empowerment—helping people not just access services, but unlock opportunities to live fuller and more independent lives. My work is an ongoing effort to break down barriers and promote genuine inclusion. By championing the rights and aspirations of people with disabilities, I embody empathy, education, and empowerment. My mission remains clear: to create lasting change and ensure that every person receives the support they deserve. Join me on this journey of transformation—one skill, one opportunity, and one achievement at a time
I support people with disability, their families and carers to access and navigate the NDIS, connect with community and mainstream supports, and work towards their goals. My role involves conducting access and planning conversations, coordinating with allied health professionals and service providers, identifying appropriate supports, and helping participants build independence and improve their quality of life through person-centred planning and collaboration.
I support adults with disabilities under the NDIS and children and young people in Short-Term and Supported Residential Care (SSRC). My role is to provide a safe and stable environment while helping them build independence, confidence, and essential life skills. What I Do: Assist adults in NDIS homes with daily living, personal care, and community access. Support children and young people in SSRC by providing stability, mentoring, and life skills development. Implement trauma-informed care and behavior support strategies to manage challenging behaviors. Help build social connections, encourage participation in activities, and support emotional well-being. Respond to crises, provide de-escalation support, and ensure safety and well-being. Work within NDIS and child protection guidelines, keeping accurate records and reports. Why I Do It: I’m passionate about creating a safe and supportive space where adults and young people can learn, grow, and thrive. Every day, I help people build confidence, develop skills, and achieve their goals.
