Process
Initially, I was involved in a Reverse Osmosis Seawater Desalination Facility located at a coastal site near Barka in the Al Batinah South region of the Sultanate of Oman with a capacity of 281,000m³/Day. The project was fast paced with a delivery time of 27 Months starting from Jan-16. The project was successfully completed, to the satisfaction of all stakeholders, in the second quarter of 2018. After completion of the project, I have moved back to Dubai and resumed responsibilities from corporate office. My involvement is mainly on three fronts. First, forensic analysis of the As-built Data to define target duration and optimized sequences for future similar projects. Second; support Middle East area proposal team for the tasks related to my work experience and skills. Third; take lead in preparation of the Baseline for new projects. I am honored to be recognized as AMEI Expert, by my management, in Project Planning and Control domain.
Started working as Projects Plan & Control Manager in 2008 with a focus on - identifying & documenting scope and defining tasks - defining/developing staffing requirements and providing training, technical direction - monitoring time & cost - defining/identifying risks & issues; their impact on project - providing innovative solutions to cost and planning issues - Identifying, preparing, substantiating time & cost claims Being a civil engineer together with extensive experience in planning provided me ingredients to develop expertise of forensic planner. I have performed comprehensive analysis of delay & disruptions claims using different methods of analyses. Well versed with Delay & Disruption Protocols and calculation of prolongation & loss expenses. However, pursuant to my past experiences in contract administration, I've assumed additional responsibility of contract management for various multimillion dollar EPC and D&B water & wastewater projects for world renowned companies inclusive of: - Palm Water & KBR on iconic Palm Jumeirah STP, Dubai - Emaar, Hyder, Turner, Omnium on Lake Water Filtration on iconic Burj Khalifa, Dubai - British Petroleum NV and Worley Parsons on WTP of Qarmat Ali, Iraq - METKA Greece on WTP Shat Al Basrah, Iraq - Dubai Refreshment PJSC - Pepsi Bottlers - BP Exploration (Epsilon) & Jacobs on Khazzan Gas Project Over past few years, I have been providing planning, contract, & claims specialist services to other regional BUs in MENA region on large D&B, EPC and O&M projects like - Water Treatment and Desalination Systems for Ain El Sokhna Power Plant, Egypt - Management Contract for Al Yarmouk Water Company, Jordan - Upgrade of Mafraq WWTP, Jordan (USAID) In 2013, I was honored by senior management to manage implementation of Latis (JD Edwards) roll-out in seven BUs of KSA, UAE, and Qatar for the reasons of my expertise in planning, cost controlling & contract management skills. The roll-out was successfully competed in Jan 2014.
Initially to establish a new division of Project Management in Paragon to expand the Company’s competence to undertake projects in Project Management Services. Implemented and transferred work experience and knowledge to a highly ambitious, motivated and energetic team of fresh graduates and enhanced their capabilities; both technically and practically. Developed a comprehensive training program. I have further developed a WBS to standardize for use of project schedules and invoicing. Other than the above primary goal, further responsibilities also included • technical evaluation of prospective clients RFQ documents and participated in preparation of proposal documents. • tender documentation and subcontracts in collaboration with the technical services department • Creation of a databases for various types of agreements, subcontractors and other related aspects for the usage of contracts and commercial department • Establishing the requirements of the projects with regard to scope of services, deliverables, assumptions, budgets, and objectives • Revisit of the above throughout the project lifecycle to ensure that activities are effectively planned, resourced and completed within time and budgets • Identifying risk(s), determination of exposure, and consequently developing strategies to mitigate effectively • Analysing progress and time delays and propose corrective actions to be able to meet the milestone dates • Optimizing resource usage in view of efficiency and schedule
