Oman Drilling Systems is a leader in advanced oilfield tools manufacturing, and as Manufacturing Manager, I contribute to ensuring operational excellence through lean manufacturing practices and process optimization. With over 9 years in the manufacturing sector, I have developed expertise in driving cost-effective production, meeting stringent quality objectives, and delivering on-time results for complex projects in the oil and gas industry. Collaborating with design and engineering teams, my focus has been on implementing efficient manufacturing strategies and modern techniques to enhance productivity while reducing costs. Key contributions include supporting the development of innovative solutions, such as the Intelligent Circulation While Drilling (ICWD) tool, which exemplifies our commitment to solving upstream exploration challenges.
Collaborate with the design department on product development projects to create designs that are efficient and cost effective. Build Manufacturing Supply chains, order all production tools and equipment. Create and handle manufacturing plans in accordance with set budgets. Oversee project management, while directing team members and integrating new manufacturing techniques to cut time and production costs. Interview and train new staff on turn-mill, turning machines , and QC ( quality control) tools . Ensure departmental targets are achieving customer satisfaction with on-time delivery of product that meets their expectations with the quality objectives.
Mastered the manufacturing process for company products lines and integrated improvements to achieve high quality and optimize manufacturing time. Reduced manufacturing time by 50% by adjusting mechanical strategies on the CNC milling machine. Sourced new market trends in CNC tooling to ensure the most up to date manufacturing processes. Programmed the CNC milling up to 4th axis spiral shape by EdgeCAM & Complex turning parts& API threading. Assessed NCRs (Non-Conformance-Report) and offered viable rework solutions to reduce scrap and coordinate corrective actions. Utilized various scientific methods, such as Fish Bone diagram and 5 whys to identify the root cause of manufacturing issues. Ensured alignment of the manufacturing process with required geometrical and dimensional tolerance in drawings, and designed jigs for production and mechanical operations.
Supported the engineering team with new designs, and implemented the design & manufacturing of molds and dies with high accuracy and precision for pharmaceutical, food, and petroleum industries. Designed mechanical parts using CAD packages with applied the concepts of reverse engineering. Programmed and operated CNC milling machinery (Three & Four axes) using Eedcam Software .
