• Serve as finance and accounting business liaison within the Franklin Templeton Americas region • Provide Board, Executive and Management Committee-level communications on management / financial reporting, business profitability analysis and other financial initiatives.
• Lead the Americas Corporate Accounting and Global Distribution Accounting teams in the timely execution of month-end and quarter-end close and reporting process, including preparation and analysis of monthly and quarterly legal entity profitability reports. The Americas region of Franklin Templeton includes advisors of retail and private / alternative investment funds and institutional clients, broker/dealers, as well as transfer agent, fund administration and corporate service entities. • Subject matter expert in areas such as sales and distribution commissions, revenue recognition, leases and internally developed software. • Manage, identify and create staff development opportunities, build bench strength, manage resource allocations within Corporate Accounting Americas, including U.S., Canada and Latin America as well as Global Commission Accounting teams. Recruit and retain a global team in the Americas region as well as the two shared services centers in India and Poland. • Represent Corporate Accounting in various cross-functional project teams for strategic finance initiatives and corporate development activities (mergers & acquisition, accounting and finance process integration and strategic partnerships) • Liaise with external auditors for the statutory audits of the financial statements of various subsidiaries within the Americas region, prepare under U.S. GAAP, Mexican GAAP and IFRS. • Ensure compliance with Americas regulatory reporting requirements, including with FINRA, Department of Commerce and Department of Treasury (in the U.S.), Mutual Fund Dealers Association and Ontario Securities Commission (in Canada) and local regulators in Latin America.
• Led the U.S. Corporate Accounting teams in the timely execution of month-end and quarter-end close and reporting process. • Acted as the finance / accounting business partner for the Company’s U.S. operations, including sales and distribution, HR, marketing, technology, fund administration, transfer agency and the Institutional / high net worth client service and operations teams. • Prepared monthly and quarterly consolidated financial statements and reporting package (including business / financial highlights) to the CFO. • Assisted Investor Relations and External Financial Reporting team on quarterly earnings release and SEC filings (Form 10-Q / Form 10-K). • Managed the year-end external financial statement audit preparation and review process and act as the primary point of contact / liaison with external auditors.
