Throughout my career, I've held senior executive positions across global energy landscapes. Some of my proudest achievements involve driving growth for companies within the energy sector, leading to Senior Leadership roles at Baker Hughes. I focus on delivering projects that excel in scope, time, and cost-effectiveness. I was also a member of board of directors at Baseload Capital, a company dedicated to expanding geothermal power globally, contributing to a more sustainable energy future. My leadership journey includes being the Managing Director of Vista Energy in Mexico, where I led the company's successful launch and expansion. My tenure at Schlumberger involved overseeing complex, multi-billion-dollar projects and managing large teams of over 1000 professionals. These experiences have fueled my passion for growing businesses and achieving operational excellence. I believe in service leadership - the ability to understand and meet client needs, work closely with a dedicated team to achieve a unified vision, and maintain competitiveness through constant perseverance and motivation. Outside the boardroom, I am equally committed to personal excellence, I train regularly to maintain my fitness and have competed in numerous marathons and triathlons. Repositioned and scaled BKR’s global Integrated Solutions business to approximately $2.5B in annual revenue, representing 40% growth, while leading an organization of 800 employees and launching Mature Assets Solutions as an Enterprise strategic growth platform. Reorganized the commercial function, achieving a 77% win rate on strategic deals and 46% overall win rate, including a landmark $3.5B coiled tubing drilling contract in Saudi Arabia and a $500M well intervention contract in Brazil. Established Baker Hughes’ North Sea plug and abandonment hub, securing three seven-year contracts; expanded a production alliance in Asia that increased field production by 2.2x; and opened new markets across Latin America, Africa, the Middle East and Asia. Built and optimized a $400M annual supplier and partnership portfolio, delivering 15%+ cost productivity, while implementing operational-excellence, automation, remote-operations and readiness-assurance programs that reduced field personnel requirements by 30%+, downtime by 60%+ and nonproductive time to less than 1%.
Active member of the board of Baseload Capital, a geothermal energy company with operations in Iceland, Japan, Taiwan, and the USA. Among other key decisions, analyzed and approved the acquisition of assets in Japan, the incorporation of new partners such as Google for powering data centers in Taiwan.
Advised a private equity firm for the acquisition of an oil & gas chemical service company through a leveraged buyout of approximately US$400m, working with the leading bank and a pension fund. Started up a car rental franchise in South Florida.
Established and led Vista’s upstream business in Mexico, acquiring a 50% interest in three 30-year licenses valued at $30M plus +$40M in exploration commitments, building the operating team and increasing production from existing wells by 7.5x. Secured a factoring arrangement with NAFIN and $45M in financing, evaluated the acquisition of a 40,000 barrels per day Latin American operator, and negotiated the sale of two exploration blocks, reducing Vista’s Mexican exposure by 80%.
