Are you putting forth your best self? This was a question that my old supervisor asked me when I felt discouraged about how my day was going. That was also when I learned that out of the 365 days in a year (assuming we are not talking about a leap year) one will not always feel successful, yet always has the ability to put forth their best self in whatever it is they do. Through various professional opportunities , I have formed close relationships on diverse teams, each with different objectives yet identical motives- dedication to a cause greater than self. What motivates me is seeing hard working selfless people consistently live out this value. At Boston University I strive to keep this value in mind when serving my hospitality students, while bringing forth my authenticity, passion and humor.
