About

Now on my 3rd year of undergraduate studies, I have assimilated a cohesive foundation of mathematics which has sharpened my analytical thinking, logical proving, and problem solving abilities. Over the last couple of years I have enjoyed taking a range of pure and applied courses, but for my final year, I have decided to hone in on the pure side, and am looking forward to courses such as Galois theory and Graph theory.

Following a week learning about the logistics - particularly AI solutions for 3PL and 4PL providers - I was able to utilise my maths skills in an optimisation task. My project for the summer was to work with the finance team to analyse leakages in profit to derive a model which would make deliveries more efficient, similar to the travelling salesman problem, but with several more constraints. I recommended the NHPP to model arrivals that vary from time, and we worked on this problem using this process as a basis.

Along with a team, I assisted with the enhancement of the NRICH website, ensuring reliable global access to mathematics resources used by educators, students, and researchers. I learned about good practice in pedagogy - which in turn, shaped me into a more perceptive student - and was able to integrate my html skills to assist in the development of the site. Thank you to Charlie Gilderale and Liz Woodham for their support.
