Conducting senior thesis research in Dr. Rebecca Burdine's lab, focusing on left-right patterning in early heart development in zebrafish. My project aims to better understand asymmetric expression of downstream targets of the Nodal signaling pathway. I am also investigating which tissue transcription factor FoxH1 is necessary to regulate the Nodal and BMP signaling -- pathways important in inducing differential migration rates between left- and right-sided cardiomyocytes.
