Trained in Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH) as a clinical pharmacist in the domains of: in-patient, out-patient and pharmacist-run clinic. Graduated as a licensed pharmacist after successfully completing 6 months of pre-registration. I recommended optimal medication choice for patients from KTPH’s medication list of more than 1000 medications. I also handled a daily load of more than 30 patients in the hospital wards- tracking their conditions, matching medication choices and working with other healthcare professionals for a holistic care for the patients. Most importantly, as a pharmacist, I learnt that it is essential and necessary to ensure patients were given the right medications, in the right amount, at the right time and in the correct route. Protocol and processes are in the place to ensure people are protected- corporately or personally.
Although primarily under Johnson & Johnson's sales and marketing department, I was also involved in the Regulatory Affairs (RA). I assisted the RA department in editing the artwork of JnJ health products such as in view of location changes of the office. Training was provided to help explain the processes of new drug application (NDA) according to the ICH guidelines. I also underwent training to understand the role of Pharmacovigilance (PV), quality assurance and compliance (QA, QC) in ensuring the safety of patients and customers. Working together with Medical Affairs, I edited the abbreviated Package Insert (PI) leaflets for Zytiga, Trinza, Risperdal following the MAV-1 guidelines under HSA. I also designed and produced an information brochure for Darzalax for healthcare professionals. In the marketing role- I collaborated with the department in the production of marketing materials for therapeutic products. Highlight: Pioneered the production of a comprehensive psoriasis educational booklet for healthcare professionals , in collaboration with National Skin Centre. I also participated in organising World Psoriasis Day 2017, an event that helped raise awareness of Psoriasis to the public.
As a pre-registration pharmacist in a community pharmacy, I was under a tutelage of a pharmacist to serve the needs of the community in health advice and provision of basic healthcare (pharmacy-only medication) I learnt how to communicate with people of different ages and background and developed my social skills in handling different customers. Assisted in assessing symptoms and of customers and advising on optimal choice of medication of Pharmacy Only medications. Trained to keep track of sales and handle orders of the beauty and health products store wide. Experienced in handling customers of all ages and backgrounds and provided well rounded customer service.
