👋 I am an ecologist and urban climate change strategist with over a decade of experience in climate adaptation, municipal infrastructure resilience, and physical climate risk. - Leading ICLEI Canada's Adaptation Finance Portfolio through national projects such as the Economic Tools to Advance Adaptation (ETAA), NRCan - Leading the Who Benefits, Who Pays? Living Lab Project on Financing Climate Resilient Infrastructure with partners (Canadian Climate Institute, Canada Infrastructure Bank, Co-operators, Wawanesa, Definity) and 3 Canadian Municipalities. - Supporting the implementation of ICLEI’s Building Adaptive and Resilient Communities (BARC) program. - Led flagship projects through ORCCA (Ontario Resource Center for Climate Adaptation). - Led the development of new climate change related programs and tools such as the Getting Ready to Finance Toolkit. - Led the implementation of the Financing Resilient Infrastructure Project (FRIP) in partnership with Co-operators and 10 Municipalities across Canada.
- Led the NYGEP Ecological Restoration team of 9 to develop public outreach educational materials, high-resolution GIS maps and health & safety protocols for a corridor restoration project in three parks in the Mimico Creek watershed area. - Motivated team members to deliver high-quality project goals and milestones on time and aligned with the broader project strategy. - Reported on and documented key project lifecycle elements toward internal and external stakeholders. - Presented the project outcomes and lessons learnt to the TRCA and other partners. * The project was part of TRCA's NYGEP Program in partnership with Beacon Environmental
- Managed a Knowledge Community of 30 researchers, academics, practitioners, non-profits and businesses under the themes of degrowth and just transition. - Monitored and evaluated progress and impact of projects and deliverables (MEL). - Financial management (budgeting, invoicing, and reconciliation).
- Coordinated decentralized, transnational, multi-annual projects with over 30 national, European and International partner organisations. - Facilitated the exchange between various stakeholders (foundations, NGOs, public agencies). - Monitored and reported on all aspects of the project cycle preparation, implementation, reporting and evaluation.
- Identified and partnered with local sustainability oriented startups, stores, co-ops, civil society groups to co-design a unique sustainability walking tour. - Built and maintained relationships with a wide range of partners. - Led over 30 sustainability walking tours with over 250 local and international participants.
- Built strong relationships with business partners, NGOs, Policy makers, MEPs and other organisations working on eliminating single-use plastics from their supply chains. - From these, 7 businesses broke free from single-use plastics, by implementing the PFP deposit-return blueprint system. - Led and inspired a team in developing their public relations, communications, sales and project management skills. - Featured as one of the 69 reuse cup solutions by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, at the UN Climate Action Summit and at the Global Solutions Summit.
