6x60min (Discovery Plus+) Returning Senior Edit Producer cutting 2x1hrs & assisting across the 6 episodes. Following the success of Series 2, with the confidence of the talent and channel in hand; this year the production team took on even bigger building projects and emotional storylines as Mr Jones opened up his gates and personal life for another intense 5-month filming schedule. A personal highlight was the singling out of my episodes by both the production company and commissioning execs, who both wrote in praise of the engaging narrative storytelling and the level of craft in my commentary, taking this series to another level. Despite the success of the series, budgets across the board are tighter and our own schedule was compounded with Vinnie filming “The Gentlemen” alongside our production; despite this, access was wide open and Vinnie’s content more engaging than ever giving edit teams the chance to sit in scenes and explore Vinnie and his often-emotional relationship with men’s mental health in a deeper way. With talent and tone in hand, filmed with an ever-tightening budget, the challenge in-edit was ensuring Mary’s landmark series came across as elegantly lavish as ever. One of the five core Senior Producers of the series; my role was leading the fast turnaround overnight edit team; As Senior Producer I oversaw two Eps, 7 edit suites and a finishing suite as the team cut the round of daily story commissions, stitching these together as the main daily Big Brother reality show for the following ITV 1 evening broadcast. Working 6 days a week during the 3 ½ week live run, I worked closely with the Story Producers & Senior Editor / Exec teams to ensure reality scenes fairly and clearly represented the characters ongoing narrative, back commissioning additional stories and Diary Room interviews where needed. 8x60min (Discovery Plus+) Senior / Lead Edit Producer cutting 3x1hrs & assisting across the 6 episodes. Following on from a highly successful 1st series and huge expectations from the channel, with production and post running in tandem over a 4-month filming block over, as Lead / Senior Edit Producer it was essential to get through material as quickly as possible to identify which narrative storylines to nurture and pursue and importantly for filming in what episodic order. Finding a fresh way to relaunch the series, landing returning on-screen talent, bringing new viewers up to speed, and finding a voice for Vinnie in commentary is par for the course in re-establishing a series, but with access to new builds tied up in red tape, the challenge in the edit for Series 2 was crafting the minutia of Vinnie’s personal & often emotional journey into something equally as seismic as the large scale crash bang wallop builds seen in the previous series.
