Vessel Manager for Fugro's Fleet. Managing DP research vessels and self propelled Self Elevated Platform/ Jack-up/ SEWOP/ Liftboat. Key Responsibilities are; Lead and ensure Safety and Compliance at all levels by ensuring vessels adhere to international, flag state, and port state rules and regulations, including ISM code, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 standards, Crew Management, Vessel Maintenance and optimal seaworthiness, Operations and Performance to ensure safety, suitability and elevate the reliability and availability of the asset, Opex and Capex budgetting and Cost Control, Documentation and Reporting, and Communication and Collaboration between vessel and stake holders ashore. Involved in implementing innovative solutions and making Fugro vessels more energy efficient. I have been managing Fugro's own Self propelled Self elevated platform, which is involved in the strategic wind-farming enhancement within Japan. I'm also responsible for planning, executing, and monitoring the drydocking project, which includes tasks like shipyard selection, budget management, and quality control.
Overall responsible for the Technical management of the Oldendorff transhipment vessels in Vietnam. Supporting with Technical issues on Oldendorff chartered vessels in Vietnam. In charge for Dry-docking, major repairs or upgrades and vessel surveys. Prepares the vessels annual operational cost and Capex budgets. - Managing the HSE findings, close out actions and preventive measures relevant to the assets. - Organizing, and supervising Safety critical and operation critical equipment maintenance. - Point of contact between key vendors such as Liebherr for Cranes, ABB for Azipods, and Multidrive system, EMS-Tech for Cargo handling system. - Overall incharge for Technical, crewing and procurement teams, and part of the senior management team in Oldendorff Vietnam. - My role included managing the first two purpose built transhipment Bulk Carriers operating to support the Nghi Son 2 1200MW BOT power plant.
Vessel Superintendent, Planned Maintenance System & Reliability - Vessel Superintendent for the Offshore Floating Transshipment Terminals (OFT) in Indonesia, and part of the Technical team managing 6 Offshore Floating Transshipment Terminals, and 14 tugs and barge combos within Rocktree. - Project manager for the Renewal survey and Drydock for Supramax size Self Discharging Bulk Carrier RT Leo. - Project Manager for the installation of an Alfa Laval 1500m3/h Ballast water treatment system installation onboard the RT Leo. - Project Manager Headquarters Remote Operation Centre improvement project, which is part of the company’s sustainability initiative. - Prepares the vessel annual operational budget to achieve the targeted 10% reduction of 2021 budget, and managing to stay within the budget. - Managing the QHSSE findings, close out actions and preventive measures relevant to the assets.
Managing DP3 and DP2 classed Heavy lift construction vessels with cranes up to 3,500-ton lift capacity. - Ensures maintenance is in accordance with the applicable Rules & Regulations, industry standards and the SEB Maintenance and Material Strategy as agreed upon in the Ship management contract and keeping within the 6% KPI for overall overdue maintenance jobs. - Responsible for proper execution of the upgrades and life extension projects, including the complete upgrade of DP2 6.6kV power distribution system. Installing 8, 150T mooring winch spread for near shore pipe lay activities and upgrading of 3000T crane. - Prepares the vessel annual operational budget to achieve the required 10% reduction of FY21 compared to FY20 and managing to stay within the budget. - Prepare the non-Operational Expenditure (CAPEX) budgets in excess of USD 16 million. - Lead an incident investigation of a heavy lift crane wire jumping of the boom sheave during an upending operation during a Qatar Gas installation project. - Attending all major problems, investigating and finding solutions to support the on board staff. - Managing the HSE findings, close out actions and preventive measures relevant to the assets. - Managing the Crewing, supply chain, logistics and operations team.
Vessel Superintendents deliverables: -Maintains validity of Class, international and statutory certificates. -Plans Annual, Periodical and Special surveys, dry-dockings and other repairs required for the vessels. -Up to date on changes in statutory, class rules and other regulations. -Implements and maintains Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental standards on board; -Monitor planned and corrective maintenance through the planned maintenance system and vessel inspections. - Carry out vessel audits and Marine Warranty surveys for 3rd party vessels. -Prepare and manage yearly Opex budgets and Capex budgetsfor each vessel. -Prepares monthly, quarterly and annual reports on vessel's expenditures and KPI's for the owner. -Manages repairs, conversion jobs and dry-dockings. -Ensures that the vessels under my responsibility are manned in accordance with regulations and that vessel crew are suitably trained and experienced to S.T.C.W. requirements. -Co-ordination of recruitment and assigning marine crew to Company vessels; -Review of bridging documents between clients and FUGRO; -Maintains an effective communication line with the vessels, operators and other parties involved; -Liaises with principals and / or Underwriters / Salvage Association Surveyors, and assists in the preparation of H&M claims. - Involved with bids and tenders for projects involving vessels under my responsibility. - Worked on major projects for oil majors such as Shell, Chevron, BP, ENI & Total - Work on major projects for national oil companies such as Aramco, ADNOC, QP, PETRONAS etc. - Seconded as Port Engineer for Fugro Middle East on projects for ADMA/ ZADCO.
