I work at the intersection of development finance, strategic partnerships, and growth strategy; helping organisations mobilise capital, build high-value partnerships, and design funding models that deliver greater impact at scale. Over the past 20+ years, I have held leadership roles across Asia, Africa, Europe and global markets with Save the Children International, Plan International, UNICEF and Child Fund International. My experience spans resource mobilisation, innovative finance, multilateral engagement, and market development. I have led regional growth strategies, structured new financing platforms, secured Board-level approvals for capital vehicles, and convened governments, MDBs, DFIs, philanthropies, and private sector partners around shared outcomes in education, gender, health, climate resilience, and social inclusion. A recurring focus of my work has been helping organisations adapt to a changing funding landscape; moving beyond traditional grant dependency toward more diversified, resilient, and scalable models. Current interests include development finance innovation, climate resilience financing, blended capital, MDB partnerships, and future business models for social impact. Advised UNICEF East Asia and Pacific Regional Office on strengthening internal capability to identify and apply innovative finance approaches across regional and country portfolios. Key areas of focus included: • Designed a practical learning programme on innovative finance for regional and country teams • Translated complex financing instruments into actionable tools for programme and partnerships teams • Advised on blended finance, catalytic capital, guarantees, and partnership models • Strengthened readiness to engage private sector, philanthropic, and institutional financing partners Focused on helping teams move from concept awareness to practical application.
Led Plan International’s global innovation portfolio, driving new growth models, strategic partnerships, and future-focused solutions to strengthen impact and organisational sustainability. Key areas of focus included: • Refreshing the organisation’s global innovation and investment strategy • Scaling high-potential ventures and minimum viable products through external financing • Designing youth-led incubation and acceleration programmes aligned to girls’ rights and economic inclusion • Building strategic partnerships with organisations including Accenture, Meta, Samsung, and other external actors Recent work included launching new philanthropy and diaspora financing initiatives to mobilise resources for girls’ education and social impact.
Advised senior leadership on embedding innovative finance and social enterprise approaches into organisational strategy, programme design, and growth planning. Led Plan International’s global innovative finance agenda, shaping new funding and investment models to diversify income, unlock external capital, and scale sustainable social impact. Key areas of focus included: • Designing and launching the organisation’s first internal concessional loan facility, including Board approval and governance frameworks • Leading investor, foundation, and government engagement on results-based and outcome-linked financing opportunities • Structuring partnerships and financing models to crowd in external capital for strategic priorities • Advising senior leadership on innovative finance strategy, risk, and market opportunities Recent work included supporting the launch of the Empoderando El Futuro Social Impact Bond in Colombia.
Provided technical leadership to a global transformation programme focused on strengthening Plan International’s long-term funding model, capital efficiency, and organisational sustainability. Appointed to lead a critical organisational transition, steering the managed closure and country exit of Plan International’s Pakistan programme during a highly sensitive operating period. Key areas of focus included: • Leading closure strategy, transition planning, and enterprise risk management • Overseeing programme portfolios, grants, communications, and operational continuity through wind-down • Managing donor, partner, staff, and government stakeholder engagement throughout the transition • Leading asset disposal, compliance, people impacts, and partner handover arrangements Also provided oversight of a significant multi-sector portfolio and multidisciplinary teams in a complex operating environment.
