• Developing customized recruitment strategies that align with SMART’s business goals and objectives and leading the recruitment team to tactically meet those goals • Evaluating SMART’s current recruitment model and related costs, and introducing enhancements that increase the efficiency and effectiveness of our hiring process • Managing, motivating, and developing a team of recruitment professionals; team management includes hiring, resource allocation, coaching, performance management, and employee development • Demonstrating expertise in the area of recruitment; staying current on leading edge recruiting tools, strategies, technologies and sources; gathering and managing financial costs/value data regarding all costs associated with recruitment; evaluating and implementing appropriate tools to enhance the value and cost-effectiveness of SMART’s recruiting and hiring process • Ensuring effective and consistent hiring practices across the business areas; in conjunction with learning and development, develop and train hiring managers on the recruitment process and effective interviewing techniques that consistently lead to the selection and hiring of high quality candidates • Managing and enhance SMART’s co-op and internship programs • Mananging, enhancing and measuring the effectiveness of SMART’s global corporate on-boarding program and supporting the Business Units and functional areas to develop business specific on-boarding programs • Working with cross functional teams in the development of a employment brand strategy focused on positioning SMART appropriately in the marketplace
• Providing expertise and guidance during the full recruitment cycle, including identifying required positions, ensuring immigration requirements are met, administering pre-employment testing and placing successful candidates • Creating detailed recruitment plans with hiring managers by setting timelines and qualification criteria for selecting successful candidates • Vetting resumes and presenting recommended candidates for interviews • Developing the hiring managers’ ability to effectively attract, interview and select candidates • Providing feedback and recommendations to the manager, strategic staffing, for improving the recruitment process and reducing SMART’s total cost of hiring • Reinforcing SMART’s employment brand and culture • Researching and recommending cost-effective recruitment solutions to address the local market trends • Effectively delivering programs that will enhance the productivity of the strategic staffing function • Supporting the manager, strategic staffing, with recruiting processes that involve subject matter expertise, improvement initiatives, vendor relationship management and contract execution and administration
