As a software developer, I am passionate about using technology to solve complex problems and make a positive impact. I was hooked on the magic of software development from the moment I wrote my first program to print out a Christmas tree using asterisks as a teenager. Today, I still feel that same sense of joy and wonderment when I successfully roll out a new software release. In my previous role at MetricStream, I played a pivotal role in the release of the company's M7 product line. I was involved in all stages of the software development cycle, from planning and design to development and deployment. My key accomplishments included optimizing algorithms, fixing bugs, and integrating new systems to improve the product's performance and functionality using technologies such as Java, SQL, PL/SQL, and JavaScript frameworks. After seven years at MetricStream, I decided to pursue a Masters's degree in Software Engineering at San Jose State University (SJSU). During my time at SJSU, I have had the opportunity to explore cutting-edge technologies such as distributed systems, data mining, and machine learning. In my most recent project, I built a machine learning model to automatically identify runners in sports marathon images, which saved countless hours of manual work. Currently, I am developing a blockchain-based ticketing system and learning about recommendation systems used by industry leaders like Netflix and Amazon. As I approach graduation in May 2023, I am excited to explore new opportunities in software development. Whether it's working on innovative new products or solving challenging technical problems, I am eager to make an impact in the industry. • Managed course communication channels and responded to student inquiries, resulting in timely and effective communication between students and the professor • Adapted teaching strategies to meet the individual learning needs of students, resulting in improved grades and increased student engagement • Taught 25 students technical communication; Individually graded submissions for 25 students and hosted weekly office hours • Worked closely with the professor to identify and address student concerns, resulting in increased student success
Across seven years of my professional experience, I have worked on end-to-end cloud-based enterprise product development from architecture, design, implementation, and deployment to quality assurance. Key projects include: Survey Management ● Handled full-stack programming tasks for developing high-profile web app features using Spring, SQL, and Backbone JS, leading to three bug-free releases and timely deployment ● Developed new scoring algorithms, notification management framework, and integration with REST APIs for a complete end-to-end CI\CD pipeline for the feature ● Fully automated performance load testing by developing SQL scripts and Java APIs saving ~$200 dev hours Compliance Management ● Pioneered the development of a new groovy framework that enabled bulk upload of GRC data, reducing data load time by 40% ● Uncovered security flaws and outdated practices within the legacy codebase related to business-critical PL\slash SQL hooks; refactored the application to a more optimal design ● Led the team as Scrum Master and delivered the project in record time through efficient release cycles Enterprise Risk Management ● Achieved a 30% reduction in response time for ERM dashboards by optimizing data storage and reporting queries ● Developed and deployed the Español version of the product using Microsoft Cognitive Services for a leading financial conglomerate, increasing the potential customer base by 23%
