A good day is spent modeling something in Excel, creating budgets/forecasts and looking after our bank facilities and accounts. I've been fortunate to work with fun, hard working teammates. The only thing I like better than a good spreadsheet is no traffic on I10.
Managing Pin Oak's (midstream crude and C5 storage company) Treasury and Financial Planning functions.
Served as lead economist for the Offshore Development portfolio, focused on US Gulf of Mexico, Brazil and Vietnam. Built cash flow models, performed sensitivity analysis and presented optimized results leading to a stronger negotiating position, saving $10-50 Million of capital costs. Supported the Business Development and Exploration groups with economic modeling for special projects and lease sales.
Led all of the economic evaluations, commercial negotiations and planning for international development projects, focused on offshore Guyana, Nigeria, Gulf of Mexico and Offshore Atlantic Canada. Main focus was Guyana (Stabroek Block), the new high profile basin and new country entry with over 8 Billion oil equivalent barrels discovered, and over $10 Billion in capital committed. Led the financial planning and economic analysis for four sanctioned deep-water projects ($Gross): o 2014 $5+ Billion GoM o 2015 $10+ Billion GoM o 2017 $4+ Billion Guyana Phase 1 o 2019 $6+ Billion Guyana Phase 2
Led economic modeling and forecasting for the GoM Exploration group and developed and maintained the GoM prospect inventory drill out model. Determined financial and economic impacts of lease trades, farm-out/farm-in deals and wrote the supporting Financial Memorandums. Worked closely with the VP of Exploration by providing lease and competitor analysis, creaming curves, production analysis and prospect portfolio valuations.
