As a strategic advisor, I played a key role in establishing the Crisis Management service within the Federal Public Service of Health and in launching transformation initiatives post-COVID-19. I provided strategic and operational support for the European Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Authority (HERA), assisting the Director General in organizational development, including strategic planning and project acceleration. I also contributed to the operationalization of the critical medicines alliance at the European level. This role deepened my knowledge of European and international public and private actors in health and crisis management.
Belgium’s 40 under 40 brings together 40 societal leaders below 40 to embark on a journey of personal and leadership development centred on meaning, societal responsibility, and impact. As a Fellow, I have the chance to connect with other young leaders from different sectors. Together, we reflect on our leadership journeys and increase our societal footprint.
Throughout my time in this role, I served under the Minister of Health, the Minister of the Interior, and the Prime Minister as director of the COVID-19 Commissariat, where I was responsible for the strategic, operational, and political coordination of the COVID-19 response during this key crisis with a profound impact on citizens. I played a pivotal role in developing, negotiating, and implementing critical projects such as vaccination and testing initiatives. My work also involved clear and effective communication on COVID-19 matters, driving innovation, and ensuring a citizen-focused approach. Additionally, I managed the transition from crisis management back to regular administrative operations, ensuring a smooth return to normalcy.
