Mr. Abhaya Bahadur Singh has an MBA degree and is ACCESS’s country manager for Nepal with long experience in the sector of financial inclusion and financial literacy. As part of his assignments, he has conducted several market research activities which include both qualitative and quantitative surveys. Mr. Singh was hired as a consultant by Swiss Contact Nepal in 2018 to support its access to finance component of YEP project. More recently, he had led ACCESS Nepal team in successful implementation of several ACCESS's projects - IFAD funded Technical Assistance to SAMRIDDHI Project; DFID/Sakchyam Challenge Fund, Financial and Business literacy for agriculture and handicraft entrepreneurs for SEDRA project, etc.
Design and delivery of various training including Financial Literacy Development of Training Manual on Financial Literacy for Remittance Receiving Households Development of Financial Product ( a mix of savings, credit and remittance) for migrants and their households in mid-western region of Nepal Various research - market research to understand the demand of financial services; other social research including baseline for GBV
EAFS is a joint venture of UNDP, UNCDF and Nepal Rastra Bank (Central Bank of Nepal). The project supports the efforts of 17 Financial Services Providers (FSPs) in broadening and deepening the outreach of financial services in Nepal, especially in rural and remote areas of the country where the access to financial services have hitherto been minimal. EAFS supports the partner institutions by providing technical assistance in addition to the grant subsidy provided through Performance Based Agreements.
• Liaising with government agencies in Nepal like, Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Ministry of Finance and other line agencies at the central as well as district levels for implementation of FAO projects; • Coordinated, facilitated and supported the visiting technical missions of national and international experts in arranging meetings, field visits and provide reference materials. • Managed various FAO implemented project including a TCP project on Agriculture Marketing with a particular focus on vegetable value chain development. • Provided operational support and monitoring of projects including: Jobs for Peace (joint project ILO), Avian Influenza Control Project (WB supported), Climate Change and Disaster Preparedness (joint project with UNDP), Agriculture Marketing project etc. This opportunity equipped me with a knack to implement multi agencies led program.
