Senior GIS Engineer with hands-on experience in architecting and maintaining mission-critical GIS platforms for exploration and spatial data operations. My expertise spans the full GIS technology stack, from enterprise architecture and infrastructure deployment to custom web app development and data automation. I specialize in modernizing legacy GIS systems, integrating ArcGIS Enterprise with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), and leveraging Python scripting and FME for workflow optimization. Technical Focus Areas: • Web & Application Development: ArcGIS JS API, ArcObject SDK, ArcPy, Leaflet, Mapbox • System Monitoring & Analytics: ArcGIS Monitor, System Designer, eGDB Health • Automation & Deployment: ArcGIS Enterprise Builder, REST API, Python API • Databases: SQL Server, PostgreSQL/PostGIS, Oracle • ETL & Integration: FME Desktop, FME Server Passionate about developing high-performance, automated GIS systems that deliver accuracy, scalability, and efficiency across enterprise environments.
- Modernize spatial applications using React, Python, and ArcGIS Experience Builder, ensuring scalability and performance for exploration operations. - Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate GIS analytics into exploration workflows, improving decision-making efficiency. - Oversee system reliability through ArcGIS Monitor, optimizing uptime and infrastructure health. - Architect and lead deployment of large-scale, multi-machine ArcGIS Enterprise environments, ensuring system scalability, security, and high availability across exploration operations. - Design and optimize enterprise GIS architecture supporting cross-functional geoscience and exploration workflows.
- Designed and optimized ArcGIS Enterprise architecture across four high-availability environments, improving reliability and scalability. - Built custom Angular widgets and automated workflows in Python, enhancing exploration data accessibility for 4000+ users. - Implemented system monitoring with ArcGIS Monitor and Zenoss, reducing downtime. - Led disaster recovery strategy development, ensuring operational continuity for mission-critical GIS systems.
- Application design, development, and collaboration in an on-site environment - Developing and applying service orientated architectures to enterprise solutions - Designing and developing customized web and desktop solutions - Administrating existing databases and develop custom functions, views, and maintenance plans - Server administration for high availability solution based on ESRI's ArcGIS Enterprise stack
Working as a developer in collaboration with the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah (Tafweej Unit), to provide new scheduling for pilgrim groups using a GIS web platform. The platform is developed using ArcGIS JavaScript SDK that will serve thematic maps and charts on a dashboard for all the phases of Hajj. Developed Add-in for ArcMap using ArcObjects. Current Responsibilities • Gathering Requirements • Creating mockups • Designing Geo-database • Distributing tasks among a team of 5 (development and design) • Perform main GIS development tasks such as o ArcGIS Desktop Customization o Creating maps using GeoJSON Data on ESRI JS API Tools Used in this project • GIS Tools and Libraries o ArcGIS Desktop o ESRI JS API o ArcPy o ArcObjects .NET SDK for C# o ESRI Leaflet • Server Side o PHP Laravel framework o Postgres / PostGIS o GeoServer • Client-Side o HTML 5 JS CSS 3 o Google Maps API • Infrastructure o AWS EC2, RDS, S3 • IDEs o Visual Studio 2019 The following are the details of the current project. Video: https://youtu.be/wLtv7YMdr1U and https://youtu.be/v5Ly7iiDJ_M Following are the technical details for the above implementation, ● "Data management" tool is used along with Generate Points Along Lines to generate spatial locations for each groups using ESRI Python script. ● Used IQueryFilter to specify the subset of the data that is required to be populated for the existing features. ● Utilized IFeatureCursor to access the subset of features while updating them. While using IFeatureClass to find fields and updating them ● Using a Geoprocessing object in the ArcObjects Kernel density tool was called to generate the density raster layer. ● The user can specify different configurations to produce multiple hotspot analysis results. ● Temporal Analyst Geoprocessing tool was used with the add-in to create the simulation
For the Fall 2017 semester, taught Data Structures and Algorithms to a batch of 92 Electrical Engineering students
The university fully funded the assistantship under the Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (FRGS), FRGS No: 08-02-14-1580FR.
Apart from the graduate research, taught Heterogeneous Parallel Programming with CUDA to students and faculty members.
