Buro Happold · University of California, Berkeley
Senior Transport & Mobility Consultant with an MSc from UC Berkeley. My work lies at the intersection of cities, people, and mobility, I aim to bridge concepts of urban planning, behavioral analysis, spatial analysis and transport planning to inform transport infrastructure development decisions and policy recommendations. With 6 years of experience in transportation consulting and research, I focus on developing comprehensive transport strategies/master plans, that balance efficiency, sustainability, and community needs. Core skills include: • Transport infrastructure development and master planning • Transport demand modeling and behavioral analysis • Spatial analytics • Data driven transport policy recommendations • Parking strategies • Technical transport analysis for Public-Private Partnership projects
Leading transport and mobility projects across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, delivering regional mobility strategies, public-private partnership (PPP) projects technical input, and large-scale masterplans as part of Buro Happold's infrastructure consulting practice. Providing technical leadership in transportation planning and analysis through demand forecasting, transport modelling, GIS-based spatial analysis, junction and network performance assessment, and data analytics using Python and Excel. Translating complex data into actionable insights that support evidence-based decision-making for public and private sector clients. Successfully leading multidisciplinary project teams to deliver high-quality mobility solutions, technical reports, and strategic recommendations. Managing client and stakeholder relationships, overseeing project resources and budgets, and driving efficient delivery to achieve programme objectives, commercial targets, and client satisfaction.
Worked as an assistant project manager in steering national freight strategies with the objective of positioning Saudi as a global logistics hub. Planned and led a wide range stakeholder engagement plan to gain depth in understanding current challenges faced by public and private stakeholders pertaining to transport and freight sector with the intent of developing actionable recommendations to improve the freight movement environment in Saudi Arabia. Leveraged Saudi's transport sector data to inform policy and regulation improvements on multiple facets such as highway operations, truck parking and truck lane planning.
Worked as a client facing transportation consultant to develop concept transportation masterplans for clients, creating mobility strategies with a focus on sustainable mobility. Estimated trip demand for major Saudi developments, proposing traffic mitigation measures, modality switches to public transportation and active modes. Lead vendor outreach efforts to explore transportation system design feasibility and evaluating system risks. Delivered preconcept and concept transport masterplan strategies for clients on a wide variety of levels ranging from mega projects to real-estate developments.
Engaged stakeholders and offered transportation consulting services for a wide range of urban mobility projects. Created trip demand models using Visum and leveraged Visum's graphical tools to visualize network performance measures to derive insights that inform transportation infrastructure planning decisions. Conducted traffic impact assessments and used SIDRA Intersections to validate junction operational efficiency. Prepared competitive bid proposals for transportation planning studies and transportation infrastructure projects.
Programmed traffic simulation scenarios for demand management studies using Aimsun/Python API. Leveraged simulation output to analyze highway performance under different demand management scenarios. Used results from highway performance analyses to inform demand management operation alternatives. Paper published here; https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0965856421001282
