Over the last 42+ years, I have learned that business transformation is rarely about technology alone. It is about people, processes, and having the courage to challenge the way things have always been done. My journey started on the shop floor in engineering and plant operations at ABB. Working close to operations gave me a deep understanding of how businesses really function and where opportunities for improvement often hide. What began with solving operational challenges gradually evolved into leading enterprise-wide transformation initiatives across multiple countries and business functions. Over the years, I progressed into leadership roles and eventually served as Assistant Vice President and Country ERP Head for India, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh. This journey gave me the opportunity to lead large-scale SAP implementations, cross-country ERP rollouts, governance initiatives, process harmonization programs, and business transformation efforts that supported significant organizational growth. One thing experience has consistently reinforced for me is that successful transformation is not achieved by implementing systems alone. Led One Simple ABB (OSA) ERP transformation initiatives across South Asia involving multiple countries and large-scale business process harmonization. Played a foundational role in establishing the Regional ERP Management Support center, Key achievements: • Led SAP ECC implementation and rollout initiatives across ten countries in South Asia • Served as PM module lead driving common business process design and implementation standards • Successfully executed India pilot implementation followed by regional rollouts • Directed data migration initiatives and stakeholder engagement programs • Managed Singapore ERP implementation as onsite Project Manager • Center (REMSC) using a global support model
1. Managed and coordinated all external certification audits for ABB, a globally recognized electrical engineering organization certified under ISO 9001 (Quality Mangt. System), ISO 14001 (Environmental Health & Safety Management System), and OHSAS 18001 (Occupational Health & Safety Management System). Served as the primary focal point for audit compliance, ensuring timely closure of all observations, corrective actions, and non-conformities while maintaining full adherence to international standards. 2. Utility management and infrastructure expansion initiatives across the manufacturing campus. Successfully supported a five to six fold increase in utility demand resulting from the air-conditioning of office facilities and the commissioning of new production equipment requiring controlled environments. Managed and maintained over 700 TR (Tons of Refrigeration) of cooling capacity to ensure uninterrupted operations and process reliability. 3. Actively participated in cross-Business Unit (BU) and Business Area (BA) improvement teams, driving operational excellence initiatives through methodologies such as 5S, Total Quality Management (TQM), Six Sigma, and continuous improvement programs. Represented the organization in corporate forums and best-practice sharing platforms at regional and global levels. 4. Established and led a high-performing Quality Circle team that achieved multiple awards at city, regional, national, and international levels. The team earned international recognition and won the trophy for Best Presentation and Outstanding Improvement Project, demonstrating excellence in problem-solving, innovation, and teamwork. 5. played a key role in new product introductions, product change management, factory modernization, office renovations, and workplace transformation projects.
