Professional Biography (2026) Aaron Johnson is a dynamic educator with over 18 years of experience in both public and independent school systems. Currently serving as an English and Social Studies Instructor at Annoor Academy of Knoxville, Aaron specializes in interdisciplinary teaching, adaptive instruction, and preparing students for advanced academic achievement. At Annoor Academy, Aaron teaches 6th and 7th Grade English and Social Studies (TN Standards), as well as Advanced Placement (AP) courses including AP Language and Composition, AP Modern World History, and AP Human Geography. He also serves as the sponsor for the AAK Scholar's Bowl and the school Chess Club. Since joining the faculty in 2024, he has been instrumental in devising lesson plans that reflect the educational, cultural, and linguistic diversity of the student body. Aaron’s career is defined by a commitment to diverse learning needs. His background includes tenure as a Special Education Instructor and Case Manager in Mississippi, where he honed skills in differentiated instruction and inclusion services. He previously served as an English Instructor and Strategic Planning Committee member at the Webb School of Knoxville (his Alma Mater), where he authored the 10th Grade English Curriculum and received the Alumni Achievement Award. A veteran of the Mississippi Teacher Corps, Aaron served as a Program Manager and Instructional Coach for the organization at the University of Mississippi, where he supervised graduate students and managed summer training programs. His academic contributions include co-authoring an article on classroom management published in The Educational Forum. Aaron holds a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Mississippi, where he was a full-scholarship recipient and winner of the Andrew P. Mullins Jr. Award. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of Tennessee. Beyond the classroom, Aaron is an active member of the National Council for the Social Studies and the Professional Educators of Tennessee. His personal interests include chess—having sponsored clubs at multiple schools—Artificial Intelligence in education, and exploring various periods in history and literature.
