As a Performance Test Engineer my role includes: - I am the SME on two large components of the Infrastructure. - Designing, Writing and executing Automated performance tests for multiple components. - Analysing test results: CPU usage, Memory usage, Message queue depths, ect. - Producing reports on the outcome of the runs. - Defect root cause analysis. - Writing Bash scripts that automate environment health checks and test logging. - Testing the back end Databases, DB2, Orcale and SQL. - Designing and creating required test data. - Designing and writing required Stubs. - Using Grafana and AppDynamics to monitor performance of the env. - I had to Design, Build and Implement a solution to allow our tests to run with the DB in multiple date modes to allow for testing of the new Cloud servers. As a Automation Test Engineer my role includes: - Creating automated test scripts for new Change requests to help support functional. - Continuously expanding the Automated Regression pack. - Expanding the scope of the Regression to include more components. - Creating tests to help Debug and RCA and defect. - Managing a bespoke Excel based test script Matrix. - Helping to design new test cases for Performance test team so they don't need to worry about the new functional changes from Change Requests. - Designing and Creating test utilities to help build automation tests and help manual checks. - Setting up new Databases to help Tests with continuous and regular execution. - Using Rational Integration Tester to schedule Automated smoke test runs to monitor the environments and report out on failures. - Using Grafana to track the Test cases successes and failures. As a Performance Test Engineer my role includes: - This was a short role, I was brought on to quickly help Perf test a change to help get it to release. - I was the only perf tester for that piece of work but I rose tot he challenge and the release was successful. - I had to reverse engineer the old and out dated Performance test suite. - Building new Scripts to test the latest changes.
