About

I am a committed Year 3 medical student with a strong aspiration to become a doctor, driven by a genuine desire to help others and make a meaningful difference in their lives. From a young age, I have been passionate about medicine, inspired by the ability to heal, protect, and positively impact those in need. My journey in medicine is fueled by a deep sense of purpose and the motivation to one day provide compassionate care to my patients, while also inspiring others to pursue their dreams. My faith as a Muslim plays a central role in my life, guiding me to strive for personal and professional excellence each day. It is this faith that instills in me a strong sense of responsibility, empathy, and the drive to be a better person in all aspects of my life. In addition to my academic pursuits, I am an avid sports enthusiast. I find balance and motivation through activities like football, swimming, and regular gym workouts. Sports are not just a hobby for me; they are an essential part of my routine that keeps me disciplined, focused, and mentally sharp. I believe that staying active is key to maintaining a healthy mind and body, which is crucial for a future in the demanding field of medicine. As I continue my medical education, I am eager to expand my knowledge, develop my skills, and grow both personally and professionally. I look forward to the opportunities ahead and am excited to contribute positively to the healthcare community.

During my time volunteering at a health clinic in Pakistan, I had the valuable opportunity to observe both a psychiatrist and a chest specialist in practice. This experience allowed me to gain insight into the differences between healthcare in Pakistan and the UK. In Pakistan, there is a stark contrast in the availability of resources as this was a smaller clinic running on a charity basis, with clinics often facing limited access to modern medical equipment and technology compared to the UK. Despite these challenges, I was struck by the dedication of the healthcare professionals, who provided personalised care with fewer resources. They also faced many difficulties such as patients who were mute or received very little to no education. This impacted the way they would understand their own issues and they also struggled to explain properly. I watched how the doctors adapted and overcame each scenario with resilience. This experience deepened my understanding of global healthcare disparities and strengthened my commitment to the medical profession.
