I’m a certified Data Scientist and Machine Learning Engineer. My background as a Voice Technologist (MSc Hons) and Linguist (MA) allows me to bring in a fresh perspective to AI teams. My interests include speech, tech, and attitudes toward German. I’ve worked and published research on Trustworthy Speech Processing, specifically looking at Bias in Flemish Speech Recognition, Cross-lingual Phoneme Recognition, and EdTech. I also chaired the KONVENS 2023 Conference on Natural Language Processing and StuTS/TaCoS 2022 Student Conference on (Computational) Linguistics. I’m passionate about empowering women, providing girls with the tools to get into STEM fields, breaking down barriers, and all things gender. I spend my free time volunteering, for example as part of the Publicity Committee for INTERSPEECH 2025 or by co-organizing the Young Female* Researchers in Speech Workshop 2024. In the past I was on the on the boards of ISCA-SAC as lead for the Doctoral Consortium 2024 organization, Junge Sprachwissenschaft e.V., and the International Language & Linguistics Students' Association.
