At the Paul G. Allen School of Computer Science & Engineering, our team prioritizes the academic and personal growth of our undergraduate students. With a solid background in student services and a knack for active listening, I have successfully guided students through their academic paths, ensuring each one has the necessary resources for overcoming challenges. My role extends beyond individual advising to include organizing and participating in key student events, which reinforces the school's commitment to an inclusive educational environment. By co-authoring retention proposals, I've contributed to strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing student retention and success within our dynamic academic community.
Provide academic counseling to prospective and current undergraduate students majoring in Computer Science and Engineering. Develop, organize, and participate in student events, including commencement, welcome days, and orientation programs. Co-author retention proposals and advise TRIO/CAMP and Allen Scholar students, referring them to appropriate resources for academic or personal difficulties.
Advised students on multi-occupational technical programs, including MOT/MOET AAS-T degrees and Bachelor of Applied Science pathways. Led marketing efforts for pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship programs, updating information on various platforms. Conducted information sessions with high school counselors and developed materials to promote pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship opportunities.
Provided advising for Cyber Security, Computer Science, and Engineering students, collaborating with faculty and staff to ensure student success. Monitored grades and attendance to ensure students maintained satisfactory progress toward graduation. Case managed over 500 students in accordance with university regulations and policies, maintaining regular communication via email and telephone.
Provided administrative support, including managing departmental calendars, scheduling meetings, and organizing files. Composed and proofread correspondence, screened calls, and handled department requisitions and budget management. Supported complex projects and proctored exams, ensuring adherence to deadlines and organizational policies.
Supervised test takers in a quiet and controlled environment, ensuring adherence to testing rules. Assisted with technology-related issues and provided quality customer service. Maintained the integrity of the testing process by enforcing established protocols.
