Leading legal operations strategy and execution for Starbucks' global Legal, Compliance & Corporate Affairs function. Responsible for driving operational efficiency, technology enablement, and vendor management across a complex, multi-jurisdictional legal organization. Core focus areas include legal technology infrastructure, outside counsel program management, matter and spend analytics, and process improvement. Reporting directly to the CLO, built and led the legal operations function for Providence’s Department of Legal Affairs, transforming how a 60+ person legal team delivers services across a regional health system. Legal Operations Leadership: Designed and scaled the legal operations function from the ground up, establishing governance, processes, and strategic initiatives that improved efficiency and positioned the legal team as a business partner. Outside Counsel Management: Established a preferred outside counsel panel and implemented policies that optimized spend, introduced RFPs and AFAs, and integrated ALSPs—reducing costs and improving accountability. Technology Transformation: Led selection and implementation of enterprise legal technology (iManage, Legal Tracker, ServiceNow, hCue) to streamline workflows, improve knowledge sharing, and increase efficiency across the department. Strategic Leadership & Chief of Staff: Partnered with CLO and legal leadership team on strategy, budget, staffing, and operations; oversaw attorney and staff recruitment, onboarding, and training; co-led department leadership committee. Global Delivery Model: Built and managed Providence’s offshore legal operations capability in Hyderabad, India, creating a scalable support function that improved cost-effectiveness and service coverage. Data & Analytics: Developed KPIs and reporting dashboards to provide real-time insights into workload, spend, and performance—informing executive decision-making. Change & Transformation: Spearheaded cross-functional initiatives including the department’s transition to a fully virtual workspace, enabling business continuity and modernized collaboration across all legal teams.
