I am 6+ years of experience maritime professional, mostly spend in shipyards doing new builds. I spent most of my professional path designing systems, calculating and making sure it can be built without anyone being blown up before/after the maiden voyage. As professional evolution goes, I was called upon to become a team leader for machinery. I like a well-organized system; I like organizing this system and I like seeing things get done. -Lead engineer for machinery related issues on multiple projects. Leader of Project based teams. Responsibilities include: - Basic design of Project - team based conceptual design of the project in cooperation with Project Lead and other lead engineers - Budgeting - Calculating the overall cost of machinery installations and workforce for the specific Project - Planning - Creating schedules for machinery department for Project based on overall delivery and production plan. Allocation of workforce in cooperation with department head and creating an Project based machinery team, or hiring subcontractors - Engineering Management - Go-to person for all machinery related questions and problems. Communicating issues internally in the department, and externally to other departments. - Design of marine systems of newbuilds - auxiliary systems for dreadgers and ferries - Commissioning, testing and delivery of systems - Special focus on in-depth automation of systems. Communicating costumer wishes with subcontractors, in compliance with Yard needs - Follow up on installation, analysing Yard building standards and project based adjustments - Liaison between production and engineering department
