Wiring of Panels and bed plates including interconnecting and test cables for Assembly I&C and Customer Support; Receive kits, expedite any shortages, inspect components for damage and confirm part number; Layout location of equipment to allow for cabling/wiring in the most appropriate manner considering compliance with standards, protection of cables, the location of other equipment, and the minimisation of man-hours Review engineering layout drawings, in relation to their accuracy and compliance with the company’s / national standards. Mark up of drawings and feed back to Electrical engineering. Wiring with all types of cabling systems including all forms of termination. Check drawings and wiring to confirm all wires have been installed, identified as required and are correctly located in the correct terminals; Fit Electrical equipment including motors and cable tray, and assist fitters with the fitting of generators
First employee of the business, working in conjunction with the Managing Director. Responsible for the delivery of Biomass Digestor and Boiler installations. Sole responsibility for owning the build of the Biomass Digestor, shipping to site, undertaking local installation, commissioning and then providing technical support on the control panel and electrical installation. Successful installations undertaken at the Berkeley Hotel, Knightsbridge and Watergate Bay Hotel, Newquay. Was point of contact for all technical and installations issues throughout build and through initial installation. Personally assembled two inaugural UK machines from brought in building blocks – Carcass, Main Motor/Gearbox, fan and motor, output auger and motor, 3 phase heating elements, control panel. Assisted in development of product and liaising with all suppliers. Further undertook the local install, including all development changes to the product on site
Working in the FMCG sector and sitting on the Management Team with responsibility for running the Engineering Department comprising 3 Engineers. Full responsibility for departmental budget, sourcing goods, obtaining quotes, raising and placing purchase orders and managing all exceptions. Tasked with the introduction of best practice into the Okehampton site. Areas include scheduling and documentation of tasks; Electrical practices; New plant and machinery; Modifications to existing plant and machinery; Instrumentation. As a result of this championed, with full site responsibility, the introduction of the preventative maintenance software package (Mainsaver) into Okehampton. Included in this was the authoring, documenting and scheduling of all planned, preventative and reactive maintenance tasks across the factory. Sole responsibility for all electrical installations on the plant as the only qualified engineer and for fault finding and modifications to control panels, including interface to PLC’s, instrumentation, transducers, sensors etc. Experienced on all pumping applications and hands on familiarity with all mechanical and pneumatic aspects.
Working in a team of four, with complete responsibility for the installation, maintenance and fault rectification of all plant comprising a Water Treatment Works and ensuring the H&S compliance of all activities. Plant includes:- Motors, 400V to 3.3kV; Motor control panels; 24V & 110V Plant control panels typically using Allen Bradley plc’s with digital and analogue (4 – 20mA) input/outputs. All fault finding being in conjunction with electrical drawings, process drawings and I/O schematics. Pumps – centrifugal, positive displacement and peristaltic; Various mixers; Air blowers; Flow monitoring equipment; Level transducers; Valves – rotork and Limitorque; Chemical Injection Points; Sample Points; Analytical equipment such as Chlorine Monitors, Turbidity Monitors, pH Monitors; Basic mechanical and pipe work installation and fault finding. Effective and efficient resolution of faults to ensure any loss of production or redundancy is kept to the minimum whilst also ensuring fault resolution is in an appropriate manner to ensure requisite water quality is maintained. Sole responsibility for ensuring weekly verification and six monthly calibration of water quality instruments is undertaken against laboratory standards and in compliance with DWi criteria. Ensure all readings are recorded and entered into the quality system documentation. Supervision of outsourced large installations and contractors. Fulfil a one in five call out rota with sole responsibility for the rectification of faults on the Treatment Works and 18 Borehole stations
