Life often takes winding paths: When I completed my training as a mechanic in 1986, I had no idea that some 30 years later I would lay the foundation for the success story of high-end Merason brand products by founding niedal audio lab ag. Even as a child and teenager, I was fascinated by audio reproduction technology. In the following years, I occupied myself with loudspeaker construction in my spare time and bought my first "real" system shortly after completing my vocational apprenticeship. Much later, at the age of 45, I turned to audio engineering because I didn't understand why digital audio reproduction still couldn't keep up with analog when it came to musicality and emotion. I set out to find someone who had designed a promising circuit for digital-to-analog conversion. Together we further developed the circuit until I was satisfied with the result and could henceforth enjoy high-resolution digital music alongside vinyl and audio tape. Thus the first product from Purson, now Merason, - the DAC1 - was born. It is constantly being developed further with great success. Later, the Merason frerot with an optional external power supply was added, offering a musical experience at an entry-level price. Meanwhile, four internal and four external employees are working on the further development of niedal audio lab to make you, dear music lover, happy, relaxed and satisfied.
