Provide technical assistance and benchmarking to develop and promote the best sustainable practices in the Michelin rubber tree plantations and Joint Ventures (more than 100 000 ha of industrial plantations in Africa, Asia and America) and small holder projects. Coordination of agronomic rubber research linked with MICHELIN ; French and foreign organizations (INRA, CIRAD, IFC, IRRDB, Universities).
Help the various entities of the Michelin group to integrate the long-term future (15/20 years) of their technical, business and societal environment, in order to enrich the vision processes and strategic reviews. Provide teams with information on major trends in areas such as the future of agriculture, mining, energy, resources, industry, AI, air transport, vehicles sustainability, health, food, circular economy, global warming, pollution, geopolitics, etc. Organize small group debates with internal and external experts to challenge ideas, facts and figures and to explore outside the “main stream”
Scope: Raw material purchasing worldwide (supply of 70 tire plants), >800 suppliers Risk management: Development and coordination of new supplier audit approach Development of business continuity management approach Follow up of supplier performance (quality, commitment, ability to progress) Opportunity management: Development and evolution of Supplier Relationship Management approach through innovation captation opportunities tools with focus on worldwide innovation suppliers. "Total cost of ownership" cost opportunities follow up of several raw material categories. 360 degree performance follow up with suppliers
Direction of logistic, quality and lean manufacturing departments Operational reorganization of quality department (5 plants) through a direct involvment of operation staff in quality management and direct management of quality controler and labs by plant managers Logistic optimization: reduction by 35% of logistic cost through better follow up of logistic supplier performance Conduction of several optimization studies in field an plant perimeter (6000 persons)
Coordination of several cost optimization studies in industrial rubber plantations and rubber plants in Africa and Brasil (energy, logistic, process, field and plant operations) Training of 5 local managers to lean manufacturing
