First or Second developer of Hiber (formerly Magnitude Space). In the 5 years I've worked there, a lot of systems had to be built from scratch. I have been major participant in most of the developments in the first 3 years, after which Hiber had multiple teams running for different projects. I will mainly describe achievements, though co-operation was required for the successes we've made. Hiberband Direct: - Designing and writing embedded software for the modem, including UART API processing, data management, event scheduling, multi-variant compilation, all written in C, running on the ASF and STM32CubeMX frameworks. Additionally, writing customer and OTA software updates logic and tooling. - Designing and writing software for the satellites, Built a small framework for initialization, data acquisition, and management of sensors and IO, allowing for gathering telemetry and control connected devices to the microchips running on the satellite. - Designing and writing software for the Hiberband Direct data processing chain, eg. downloading data off the satellite, split the downloaded data between data processors, sequentially digest the downloaded information. For example, downloading raw radio samples, preprocess the data, run it through other demodulation software, gather more data (signals, telemetry) from the demodulation step, put that in the queue for next set of processors, such as uploading customer data to Hiber Mission Control. - Building and managing groundstation infrastructure, such as setting up L2TP VPN, site-to-site VPN for remote groundstation location management, installing and upgrading hardware on-site. Hiberband Via (last 2 years): Joined the Hiberband Via team and started working on building monitoring tools on the Via product, to allow for analyzing problems from the web interface. Created a proof-of-concept for low-bandwidth data transmission to the Hiberband network (over IP). Rebuilt the data transmission pipeline to reduce bandwidth.
Mainly DevOps, but also frontend tech and abtests was touched by me.
