Responsibilities included all those pertaining to previous, Engineer role (see below), as well as: • Robust completion of all hardware deliverables, as set out in the hardware development procedure, across all assigned projects. • Preparing, organising and participating in design reviews (not limited to, part reviews, expert reviews, peer reviews, supplier reviews, DFM&T across their project(s) and appropriate management of project issues resulting from meetings inc. escalation of issues as necessary • Implementing design standardisation – including electronic block standards, reuse, component reduction, procedures and best practice as documented and directed by the Hardware Manager. • Planning, escalation and communicating of external resource needs i.e., Off-site simulation, technician support, experts, suppliers, customers and other internal and external functions • Responsible for supporting design verification and product validation teams with planning and executing of test plans. This includes defining part requirements to the project team. • Providing technical direction and coaching/mentoring of graduate engineers on the team. • Ensure the knowledge transfer of his project hardware developments to other projects
Responsibilities included all those pertaining to previous, Graduate role (see below), as well as: • Responsibility for identifying & scheduling all hardware development tasks in conjunction with relevant Project Manager. Generation of timing plans for same. • Efficient day to day technical guidance and management of assigned resources. • Evaluation of new technologies and design trade-offs. • Lead HW DFMEA & DFM&T hardware activities • Manage technical communication on HW topics with the customer and suppliers • HW Input on RFIs/RFQs to create a proposal for customers. • Support the continuous improvement of the hardware development process
• Research and Develop hardware design solutions for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems • Schematic design and development of embedded systems in line with regulatory, customer and internal procedures and standards. • Review and approval of PCB layouts – ensure PCB layout is optimized for High-Speed Signals and EMC performance. • Carry out design calculations including worst case and thermal analysis using MATHCAD. • Carry out design simulations using SIMetrix • Generation of hardware design requirements • Support Bring Up and electronic testing of prototypes including EMC, Electrical, and Environmental. • Carry out Hardware Acceptance Testing(HAT) • Generation of DFMEA & and support DFM&T activities to ensure ease of manufacture • Support for prototype builds and first off debug and testing activities.
