Active at Heerema Marine Contractors as Project Engineer. Currently part of the team working on East Brae platform removal. More specific the conductor removal and jacket removal, with our vessels Balder and Sleipnir. Previous assignments: Q1/P1 removal of 5 platforms with bridged arrangements, as specialist engineer on 8 jacket removals which entailed a tripod, 4 legged and 6 legged jackets in different configurations. Onshore engineering and offshore support. Kinsale Head Platform removal, removal of two platforms in front of the Coast of Ireland. Specialist Engineer on Topsides removal with SSCV Thialf. Removal Engineer on EKOFISK project, removal of 4 platforms within the greater EKOFISK complex. Jacket removal EKOA and EKOF with SSCV Sleipnir. Supportive role on EKOA, active role on EKOF. Installation Engineer on the Jacket Foundation Installation Scope for the East Anglia ONE Windfarm Jackets, installation with Heerema's DCV Aegir. Client: ScottishPower/Iberdrola. Site Engineer at Heerema Porto Amboim in Angola on the Total Kaombo Project for over 1,5 year on multiple topics. Scope contained liasing with Yard Construction Team on lifting, seafastening, construction and transport execution/engineering. Provide overal engineering/execution support to yard and inform and involve office project team timely for planning and execution purposes. Other previous assignments: part of the T&I engineering team on multiple lifts of the Johan Sverdrup Drilling Platform, one of which is a 11200mT lift. Shape removal procedures as part of the engineering team to remove out-of-service oil and gas platforms with HMCs SSCV Thialf and SSCV Sleipnir and their crew. This specific project was Ekofisk Alpha (EKOA) and FTP (EKOF). Learn and grow on EKOA and actively take scope lead on EKOF with a team of different skilled engineers, purchasers and fabricators, under the wings of well experienced project leads and project managers. For my Graduation Internship I did a research and design study for a Deepwater Lowering System for onboard the HLV Oleg Strashnov. The project consisted out of several steps: Dimensioning the total weight with factoring, set up a overview of possible system configurations, selecting configuration for further calculations based on demands and dimensions, engineering configuration, final selection and final engineering of the system. The study and engineering resulted in a solution for a Deepwater Lowering System and can be integrated inside the Oleg Strashnov. Furthermore I got more and more interested in the Offshore Business and especially Deepwater Installations which I find now very challenging. With an eight as grade for this traineeship I got my Mechanical Engineering Bachelor diploma .
Performed a recalculation of an offer for a slurry pump drivetrain installation by Siemens Industry department Flender. During the mechanical calculations I discovered some commercial and moral benefits on holding on to conservative calculation methods. This opened my eyes as an engineer that not always hard calculations are basis for decisions, but that they can be multi-dimensional, even in engineering.
Assignment performed: Design a half-angle cut-off for a jacket installation, done on the CAD- department. With help of my mentor I calculated and designed a half-angle cut-off on the pillars of a jacket. I really enjoyed this assigment considering the responsibility and help I experienced at SHL.
