Employed by Crescent Petroleum (a prominent UAE-based private Oil & Gas Company) in the capacity of Lead Planning Engineer (Projects), stationed at the Head Office and frequently undertaking site visits to Kurdistan, Iraq. Driving the Khor Mor expansion initiative valued at $1B, which encompasses the establishment of a new LPG Plant, Gas Compression facilities, 5 Well Sites, and Flowlines to yield 750mmscfd, with a Construction Manpower Peak reaching 2,500. I bear the responsibility for overseeing all planning aspects of the project(s), taking direct charge of formulating the Master Control Schedule for each phase, including Engineering, Fabrication, Construction, and Commissioning. My role involves active engagement with EPC/Non-EPC Contracts & Procurement, ensuring alignment of each scope with the overarching master control schedule while identifying and addressing potential risks and opportunities until project completion.
Azeri Central East Platform (Client BP) - Member of the Bid Team followed by executing Design, Engineering & Construction, Project Value $6 billion. Directly reporting to the regional project director, I executed a comprehensive Level 4 schedule and cost analysis spanning the entire project. I provided leadership to a team of four nationals managing a schedule consisting of 14,000 activities for a 20,000-ton Drilling Platform. This encompassed generating weekly and monthly reports for senior management and engaging with the Client. Utilizing level 1 to 4 critical path analysis, I played a pivotal role in determining the ultimate sail-away date and overall cost forecast.
Shah Deniz Bravo Platforms (BP) - Offshore Installation & Hook-Up (overall project value including the Southern Corridor to Europe $28 billion). I was seconded by Wood Plc. to BP for overseeing the offshore installation of two bridge-linked gas platforms. In the role of senior representative, I led and managed all planning aspects to ensure successful delivery of both topsides and subsea integration hook-up scopes. This involved aligning with asset level 1 and level 3 schedules. I attended routine departmental look-ahead meetings where offshore daily reports, SIMOPS reviews, and resource allocation were discussed. I concurrently maintained progress reporting techniques and KPIs to ensure effective monitoring.
Shah Deniz Bravo Platforms (BP) - Design, Engineering & Construction. Overall Project Value including the Southern Corridor to Europe $28 billion. I oversaw the Engineering, Fabrication, and Construction of Shah Deniz II, a significant gas development project connecting two bridge-linked gas platforms. This project is among the largest gas developments globally, aimed at supplying gas from Azerbaijan to the European market. As a leader of a team of 4 planners and reporting to the Project Director, my role involved comprehensive planning using P6. I crafted a Level 4 schedule with over 13,000 activities. This schedule emphasized project milestones and critical paths, adhering to a well-timed, sequenced build philosophy. This approach facilitated the fabrication and installation of substantial steel components, 17,000 Exotic/Carbon Steel Pipe Spools, 900 km of Power & Control Cable, and multiple E&I and Mechanical Systems. These systems included LV/HV SWRM, Flash Gas, MEG, HP/LP Separators, Power Gens, and Living Quarters, collectively weighing 30,000 tons.
Bacton Rejuvenation Project (Client Shell) - Entire Gas Plant Upgrade including 3x new Propane Compressors and desalination Units. JACOBS, contracted by SHELL as EPCM, undertook FEED, Detailed Design, and Multi-Discipline Construction for a significant Gas Plant rejuvenation. This encompassed E&I Systems, Control and automation, a newly Built Desalination Module (Design/Fabrication subcontracted to Cameron/AKD), and 3 Propane Compressors. Leading 2 Senior Planners and 1 Junior Planner, I reported directly to the Project Services Manager. My responsibilities included generating and sustaining all planning-related project needs using P6. My team devised integrated Brownfield and Greenfield plans, effectively managing multiple Onshore & Offshore Shutdowns.
