Peter’s career began in 1977 at Barclays Bank. After two years in branches and HQ Marketing Dept, joined Barclaycard where he was responsible for the research, development and brand management of new card payment products, Since 1983, Peter has held a number of senior executive positions in various multi-national Banks. At Citibank, he was UK Head of Strategic Planning, developing Citibank’s domestic retail banking and payment card business strategies. At Chase Manhattan, appointed Head of European Business Planning, developing and implementing Retail Banking and Consumer Finance businesses in 6 European countries & responsible for the development & launch of the highly -acclaimed Chase Manhattan Visa credit card programme, attracting over 800,000 new customers. As Group Head of Business Development at National & Provincial Building Society, Peter was responsible for the corporation’s business diversification and mergers and acquisitions strategy including the development of a major consumer credit and card payments businesses Peter joined Visa International in 1990 responsible for Visa’s business in the UK and Ireland, helping to grow Visa’s business by over 400% In 1994, appointed Senior Vice President for Africa & Middle East,providing payment card business advisory services to banks in over 30 countries. In 1996, Peter established the Visa Middle East Regional Office and as General Manager was responsible for Visa International’s phenomenal growth throughout the M. East,achieving a regional business growth of over 2,000% between 1996 and 2003, securing a 70% market share of Middle East card payments In October 2003. Peter established The Business Performance Consultancy and now advises banks, financial service companies, Central Banks and payment switches and major retail groups throughout the Middle East on improving their corporate performance, business and marketing strategy development and implementation.
