MBA Qualified with great passion for innovation & entrepreneurship. I am an aeronautical engineer with several years of experience within multi-national companies. I have a great and natural interest towards technology and innovation.
Leading an international Team responsible for - the Flight Characteristics and Handling Qualities - the Performance figures - the Weight & Balance configuration of the AW09, a new generation single-engine turbine helicopter.
Leading a team within the Flight Physics department of Kopter. Responsible to deliver Flight Mechanics and Handling Qualities assessments for the AW09 helicopter.
Responsible for flight loads evaluation according to CS-27 for the SH09 helicopter.
SKF is an international company leader in the production of bearings and bearing-related products. Based in Milan, I am currently supporting all Italian Customers, as regards rolling bearings for gearboxes and aero-engines, AgustaWestland and GE Avio being the most important. As SKF Application Engineer I am responsible for new requests of quotation as well as preliminary sizing and product selection. Moreover I am following all the technical phases from product engineering to final delivery in order to ensure an effective and timely response.
I worked for 2 years as SKF Project Engineer. Specifically I was employed in the Railway Product Development team; main tasks were 3-D modeling, optimization and customization of Tapered Bearing Units, special bearings widely used in Railway applications. I also had specific responsibilities for monitoring potential risk of new products via RAMS and FMEA methods.
During this 4 year experience I worked as Flight Mechanics Specialist in the AgustaWestland preliminary design department. I was mainly involved in flight simulation, both off-line analyses through inverse maneuver simulations and on-line studies with pilot-in-the-loop. I also had the responsibility for developing and improving the existing flight simulation codes through the use of experimental data.
During this experience I had the chance to develop and implement a general purpose code in #C language devoted to the evaluation of helicopter optimal trajectories. The software was based on IP and SQP methods and can be coupled with any third-party flight mechanics simulation code. Examples of such maneuvers included ADS-33 Mission Task Elements, One Engine Inoperative Approaches, Power-Off Landings.
