Enric has worked across the multiple areas in this space from technical roles to commercial roles in origination and trading. Enric has a strong track record of commercial delivery. Managing carbon origination including Natural Climate Solutions
Enric managed all primary market transactions of Carbon Emission Reductions in EcoSecurities in terms of structuring and pricing while supporting the origination team in negotiating primary transactions. Enric also managed joint origination of primary transactions with strategic third parties. As part of this effort, Enric structured with a third party the largest offtake agreements of the company in China and in Mexico. Furthermore, Enric directly sourced late stage primary transactions for the trading book at EcoSecurities, having managed to secure credits from Mexico, Nicaragua, India and South Korea amongst others. Enric redefined the origination strategy of the company to mitigate the risks policy risks while seeking to maximize the exposure to future streams of carbon credits. As part of the policy team of EcoSecurities in the last four Conference of the Parties of the UNFCCC, Enric has developed a deep understanding of the regulatory framework of the international climate change negotiations.
In his role as Origination Senior Client Manager, Enric successfully developed the African and Middle East markets managing a team of four people. Focusing in the MENA region, Enric created managed to secure a strong pipeline of deals including the most profitable deal in the company. Following the success in the region, Enric supported the establishment of local offices in Dubai and Morocco. During that time, Enric also worked in Mexico where he focused in deals within the Industrial sector.
As a CDM Project Manager as part of the implementation team, Enric gained a good technical understanding of projects that reduce emissions in developing countries. Specifically, Enric worked in the CDM documentation of landfill-gas-to-energy projects in Ivory Coast and China and a waste heat recovery project in Morocco. Furthermore, Enric developed the first carbon footprint of the company. As part of the IPO process of the company, Enric was part of the internal team preparing the IPO, working in portfolio due diligence, share registrars and accounting support. During this period, Enric started his origination work in Africa and Middle East identifying and screening emission reduction projects.
