My initial career targeted the petro-chemical industry but I quickly transitioned to Information Technology and I am now passionate about digitalization in the Energy Transition. My long and varied experience includes internal management roles as well as leading consultancy missions for clients. I have also been extensively involved in pre-sales and business development activities. Thanks to 25 years in consultancy, I am flexible and I can easily adapt to change. For almost 20 years I have been focused on the energy & utilities and sustainability sectors. My expertise includes gas/electricity grids, energy retail supply, generation and central market facilitiation, giving me a holistic view of the value chain. I have been fortunate to have had the opportunity to work on a variety of projects as the sector has undergone some major transformations: • Energy retail market liberalization/unbundling, focusing on electricity and gas market data exchange. • Smart metering in a multi-utility (electricity, gas and water) roll-out project. • Digitalization in the energy transition, for example renewables management, electric mobility, flexibility and energy communities. One of my current focus areas is digitalization of the hydrogen value chain. Furthermore, I have extensive audit and compliance experience. In addition to performing IT audits, I also have experience of performing European audits in the context of the European eHealth Digital Services Infrastructure (eHDSI) audit program, which involves cross-border health care data exchange. I am a firm believer in win-win partnerships in order to stimulate innovation and accelerate the transformation of the energy system and the journey to net-zero. I have led several innovation initiatives and I am a member of several international expert groups on topics related to digitalization of the energy transition. I regularly engage with international sector and trade organisations and I am a board member of the Belgium-Luxembourg Canadian Chamber of Commerce.
My current role of Director Consulting Services includes responsibility for people management, delivery, resourcing, client management and business development. Previously I held a variety of management and consultancy functions, covering aspects such as project management, service delivery management, quality management, governance/audit and IT/business alignment. I am focused on the Utilities sector since many years now, my knowledge domains include central market platforms, datahubs, renewable energy, smart metering and electric mobility. I have also worked in other sectors, including financial services, public sector (European Commission), supply chain, transport and telecoms.
