Started out to change the world after graduating from HAW-Hamburg and finishing my thesis at the Frauenhofer Institute ISE. Left Germany for a master program in Material Science and Engineering at Masdar Institute of Science and Technology on collaboration with MIT. Worked as a research engineer in the renewable energy space. Spend ten years in the United Arab emirates working as a consultant for Innovation Norway to facilitate technology transfers and business development studies in the region. Co-Founded two companies. Now growing Soraytec a Techstars company to help utility companies improve the efficiency or their electricity networks, and reduce losses related to power quality issues. Accelerating the uptake of distributed renewable energy resources and reducing the frequency and duration of blackouts. This is done by a new way of monitoring directly at the power lines and providing actionable data to priorities actions for grid improvements and maintenance.
Soraytec is a technology provider for smart metering solutions for medium voltage networks.
Soraytec Middle East Limited is an engineering consultation company with a specialty in clean tech and environmental projects. The specifics of our work spans across Market Research, Strategy Development, Technical Assessment and Project Design/Development for off grid solar, wind, and energy storage technologies. Over the years, we have serviced clients such as Innovation Norway (Norwegian Trade Council in UAE), Green Business Norway, and Nordic Innovation (Council of Nordic Ministers). In addition, we are part of the Nigerian Future Energy Group (NIFEG) and collaborate with Masdar Institute in a cutting edge research on benchmarking their concentrated solar power platform.
PROJECTS - Solar panels (PV) performance evaluation at Masdar City's international test field - Development of highly accurate maximum power point trackers - Nanoscale analysis and development of functional PV panel coatings - Research on hydrophilic coatings-- as part of a research collaboration between Masdar Institute and Siemens AG - Development of DC/DC MPPT (solar panel controllers)
PROJECTS Simulation, validation and optimization of the installed solar thermal climatization system at the Fraunhofer Institute ISE (thermal driven absorption chiller) Research project of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (Germany): Evaluation of chances and limits of solar cooling compared to reference technologies
