My passion for the natural world grew into my purpose to restore it.
Supported first-year students through a six-week programme, delivering academic and pastoral guidance, teaching essential skills, and offering one-on-one mentorship on academic work and college life.
Developed a new and interactive display based on my study of the Kimmeridge Clay in the Sedgwick Museum. This involved producing the reconstructions, information boards and selecting appropriate specimens to convey the importance of studying past ecological interactions to aid our modern ecosystems.
Conducting research on the encrusting invertebrate community within the Kimmeridge Clay Formation. Working within the Sedgwick Museum and Etches Collection, under the supervision of Dr. Alex Liu.
In the summer of 2023, I completed a paleontological training course with the Dinosaur Isle Museum on the Isle of Wight. This program involved the excavation of the Wessex Formation, a fossil-rich deposit dating back 127 million years ago. During this training, I learned to identify changes in the paleoenvironment through sedimentological analysis and developed skills in the safe excavation and preparation of delicate fossils, including dinosaur bones. Additionally, I received conservation training, which covered the storage of specimens upon return to the museum and strategies for increasing museum publicity and maintaining educational outreach programs.
