ContentX Labs is a licensed data marketplace for AI training - connecting content owners who want to monetise their data and content libraries with AI labs and enterprises that need rights-cleared, ethically sourced datasets at scale. Having built the technical foundation of the platform as Founding Tech Lead, I stepped into the CTO role to take ownership of the broader strategic direction - shifting focus from how we build to what we build and why. I work closely with the founding team and investors to align the technical roadmap with business priorities, communicate architectural decisions in terms of risk and opportunity, and make sure engineering capacity is deployed where it creates the most leverage for growth. Day-to-day this means owning the product-technology strategy across both sides of the marketplace, guiding the team on prioritisation, and representing the technical vision in investor conversations - translating complex infrastructure challenges into a clear narrative about where the platform is going and what it will take to scale.

As Founding Technical Lead, I owned the technical direction of the product from day one: architecture, stack decisions, engineering culture, and delivery. I operated hands-on as both architect and builder while leading the engineering team through the ambiguity of an early-stage, two-sided marketplace. On the technical side, I designed and built a microservices-based platform using Python on the backend, React/Next.js on the frontend, AWS Lambda and PostgreSQL as the core data and compute layer, and Terraform to manage all infrastructure as code - built to handle structured media ingestion, rights metadata, and dataset delivery at scale. On the leadership side, I hired and mentored engineers, ran sprint cycles, managed external vendors and contractors, and kept the team shipping consistently in a fast-moving environment.
