We are one of the largest medical universities in Poland and the largest in the Silesian Voivodship. Within our University, generations of students, including icons of Polish medicine, have gained knowledge and education. We are at the forefront of universities using virtual teaching and medical simulation. Our University is located in the very heart of Poland. The potential of the voivodship in which our University is located is: over 4 million inhabitants and 19 major cities. We are located close to Katowice-Pyrzowice International Airport, from where you can reach any place in the world. This is the reason why hundreds of guests from abroad visit our University every year. Katowice is the first ever city from Central and Eastern Europe to be awarded the title of European City of Science. The Medical University of Silesia in Katowice is one of seven public universities participating in the organisation of this unique event. Its culmination will be the EuroScience Open Forum 2024. The institution granting the title and organising the ESOF conference is EuroScience (European Association for the Advancement of Science and Technology).
