Women for Afghan Women (WAW) is a grassroots civil society organization dedicated to protecting and promoting the rights of Afghan women and girls in the U.S. and Afghanistan. Our mission is to empower women to pursue self-determination and representation in all areas of life, including political, social, cultural, and economic. Since 2001, we have been advocating for gender equality and striving for a world where Afghan women and their families live without fear and prosper. With over 850 staff, we provide education, legal aid, and community support.
