About

We offer services in our core competency fields microstructural characterisation via optical and electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction based residual stress measurement and phase characterisation as well as mechanical characterisation under a wide range of loading conditions, e.g. tensile testing, isothermal fatigue, thermo-mechanical fatigue, and Charpy impact testing. With our long standing research experience on the complex relations between manufacturing process, materials microstructure and mechanical properties, we provide competent advice in your materials related R&D questions. Our Physically Based Lifetime Calculation (PhYBaL™) approach offers unique solutions for determining fatigue lifetime curves with minimum effort. Ultrasonic welding has been investigated since decades at our institute. We develop joining processes sonotrodes, adapt ultrasonic welding systems and characterise ultrasonically welded single or multi material joints.
