WetTrade Apprenticeships (WTA) – Supporting the Next Generation of Tradespeople WetTrade Apprenticeships (WTA) is a Group Training Organisation (GTO) that employs apprentices and places them with host employers in the construction industry. Specializing in wet trades such as painting, plastering, tiling, and waterproofing, WTA provides structured apprenticeship pathways that combine hands-on industry experience with quality training. As an industry-focused GTO, WTA partners with the Master Painters Association Queensland (MPA) and the National Institute of Construction Skills (NICS) to ensure apprentices receive the training, mentoring, and support needed to succeed. By connecting apprentices with skilled trade employers, WTA helps develop a more qualified workforce while assisting businesses in meeting their staffing needs. What We Do • Employ Apprentices: WTA directly employs apprentices, managing wages, superannuation, and entitlements, reducing administrative burdens for host employers. • Match Apprentices with Employers: We carefully pair apprentices with host businesses, ensuring a good fit based on skills, career goals, and employer requirements. • Provide Quality Training and Mentoring: Through NICS, apprentices receive structured training that aligns with national industry standards. WTA also provides mentoring to support career growth and skill development. • Ensure Workplace Compliance and Safety: We monitor apprentices' work environments to ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards. Why WTA Matters WTA helps address skills shortages by creating accessible training pathways, supporting apprentices in completing their qualifications, and helping employers build a skilled workforce. Our structured approach benefits both apprentices and businesses, ensuring the construction industry continues to grow with well-trained professionals.
