Biotechnology Research · München

About

The award was initiated in 2024 to honor Dr. Andreas Strüngmann and Dr. Thomas Strüngmann who, through inspiring entrepreneurial achievements and visionary investments, have made a significant impact on the life sciences. As the founders of Hexal, the twin brothers achieved extraordinary success. For more than 20 years, they have continued to replicate that success as investors with their family office ATHOS, building and developing leading companies across the industry, including the Mainz-based global company BioNTech. The Strüngmann Award aims to continue this philosophy in the future: to recognize revolutionary ideas combined with strong entrepreneurial spirit and talent in the DACH life sciences sector. Previous award recipients include Dr. Samir Ounzain and Dr. Daniel Blessing, founders of HAYA Therapeutics, as well as Dr. Dragan Grabulovski, Dr. Philipp Spycher, and Dr. Isabella Attinger-Toller, founders of Araris Biotech.
