About

Salvia Burn Association was established in 2021-2022 by Marina Karyda and Alexis Andronopoulos, through their voluntary actions of support to the burn victims of the 2018 wildfire in Mati, Greece. Salvia's vision is to leave a legacy from the experience and passion of its members and volunteers regarding burns and the needs of burn victims. It aims to become the "port" that supports every burn victim, as well as the "beacon" that inspires and mobilizes the right people and institutions in the country. This will therefore develop an environment of knowledge, experience and expertise for the treatment of burns within the Public Health System, which will contribute to the improvement of burn treatment and rehabilitation conditions in Greece. Salvia strives to promote burn prevention and awareness and reduce burn accidents and their severity, through informing the general public and especially high-risk groups (children, elderly, disabled) about the dangers of fire and burns.
